Where Are Those Golden Eggs?
According to a Competitive Enterprise Institute (CEI) study, Boomers inherited a healthy, vibrant, competitive, booming economy and have, through over regulation, turned this high standard of living into a shambles.
Most can agree that mankind has not progressed to the point where we can conduct business, commerce and life without some rules and regulations, but between 1949 and 2005 we definitely over did it, going from 19,335 pages of regulations to 134,261 in 2005. This doesn’t even take state, county or municipal regulations into account
Worse yet, even the most well intentioned regulators and regulatory agencies soon become captive to those they were supposed to regulate, in the end having accomplished only one thing, adding a layer of highly paid government bureaucrats to the equation. Read more…
